Christal Nicole Harris is affectionately known as Nikki in her personal life. She is a School Social Worker in Prince William County Schools in Northern Virginia. Christal has worked primarily in elementary schools for the past 22 years. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Spanish from the University of Virginia. She studied abroad in Valencia, Spain during her junior year in college. Christal obtained her Master of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.

 

Christal serves as a Professional Learning Community Lead in which she provides support and supervision to nine school social workers. Additionally, Christal is a Mentor for new school social workers. She is an active member of the school-wide discipline team, provides individual counseling and facilitates social skills groups for students. Christal is a member of the National Association of School Social Workers and Prince William Education Association.

 

Christal is a native of Connecticut and is the youngest of six children. She currently lives in Maryland with her husband and daughter. She is a proud aunt to many and godmother to 3 awesome children.  Christal is a member of Life Changing Christian Center and sings in the choir. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, running, sports and reading. Christal is an avid runner and is currently on a journey to run a half marathon in all 50 states. There are less than 10 states remaining on her list. This quest has truly been an eye-opening and rewarding experience for Christal. In addition to running for personal reasons, Christal has lent her support and run for various charities and causes to include AIDS, Breast cancer, Childhood cancer, Alzheimer’s, and Autism. Most recently, Christal raised money for Autism Speaks in the fall of 2019 and ran the Berlin Marathon. Christal is committed to supporting children and adults by helping them reach their full and highest potential.
